Trionic article
Great article about the workings of the Trionic system in Saabs here: https://www.eeuroparts.com/blog/5436...ation-sensing/. Now if someone could come up with the definitive troubleshooting checklist of non-starting T7 cars, without the replacement of every part and "throwing the bones" divination, that would be Nobel Prize worthy...

Nice article and except for the cam position sensor statement, a pretty good explanation of how these things developed and how they work.
Spark and fuel is the definitive checklist for all gas engines that don't start. Unfortunately there is no cheap tool, or easy way to test for spark on a car with an ignition cassette and after you've checked for fuel pressure and injector impedance, it takes money to buy the tool that will tell you if the pulse width to the fuel injector is long enough to provide the fuel you need. Sometimes "throwing the bones" and replacing the suspected parts is the most cost effective solution to a problem, it does beat paying 4 times as much for the same part that you could have replaced yourself. Sometimes sending the car off to the shop is cheaper than buying the tools you need to do a one time job.
