    Nothing works on drivers door

This morning, all was fine. When I got to my destination, none of the windows would work from the controls on the drivers side. The door lock button wouldn't work. The mirror controls, for both sides, wouldn't work and the trunk unlock wouldn't work. It seems like anything that requires power does not work from the drivers side controls. The passenger window button works fine. The rear windows go up by holding the top up button for the convertible top. The trunk unlocks with the remote. Any idea's, tricks, thoughts of where to start?

Have a look at the connector on the forward edge of the door. The conduit from the body ends in a plug with a receptacle on the door, it should be held in place by a locking device but if it wasn't done up properly it can come loose.

This may be the driver's side door lock actuator. I have replace three which means my 9-3 is on it's fourth driver's side door lock. Problem may be intermittent at first.

GeoffR, I pulled the connector apart, cleaned both sides with contact cleaner and reconnected - all is well. Thanks.

100%Saab - this may also be an ongoing issue as she gets a Driver's locking system failure - Contact Saab for Service. The remote unlock doesn't work 1/2 the time. Is the lock actuator a Tech II device or can it just be swapped?

You just replace the driver's side door lock as one unit. You do not need a Tech II. The door lock costs about $140 US. I usually don't replace them myself but one could if they can and don't mind removing the door panel.
