    Drivers side rear ebrake scraping inside of rotor

    Good Afternoon SW,


    My drivers side rear ebrake keeps scraping the inside of the rotor.
    Changed rotor, adjusted ebrake unit it was completely backed off the rotor via the screw.
    When I spin the rotor, it still scrapes every revolution, and yes the ebrake is not engaged.

    Do I need to adjust/change the cable, and if so is it the same process as the 9-5?
    If not, is there anything that I am overlooking?

    Not much play space inside the drum and even when everything looks right, it's just not sitting right. Take a rubber mallet to the shoes and firmly tap all the way around while using the other hand to hold in place.

    Sometimes these things scrape when new. Everything is built to + and - tolerance and when a shoe is on the max + side and the drum is on the max - side this sound will be there until the parts wear in. Because we all know that grinding on a brake pad or shoe puts nasty cancer causing dust in the air, you shouldn't grind a slight taper onto the leading and trailing edge of the offending shoes to make the sound go away today.
