    Thumbs down Oil Pressure

at times during driving, the SID warns me of low oil pressure and that I should find somewhere to pull over and turn off the engine. Almost each time is different. Sometimes it stays on for a few seconds, other times all I hear is the audible notification sound and a quick flash of the SID is all I encounter. I've noticed that when it does happen, it happens mostly during a varying range of acceleration. My initial concern is the oil pump may be going out. Can anyone please help.

Assuming that you have checked the oil and it's full and that you have checked the connector end of the pressure sending unit for signs of oil weeping and that you have wiggled every part of the wiring harness that can flex with engine torque, it's time to check pressure with a mechanical gage and if it's good replace the sender, if not pull the pan and start looking at the pump.
