Is it possible to put a 2006 9-5 Saab radio that has the touch screen in my 2003 9-5 without any modifications. Or would it be cheaper to go aftermarket?

You may need a different cage and faceplate but it seems like it would be plug-and-play as they are basically the same systems.

But I wouldn't bother with the 9-5 nav system in the Saab 9-5 because it is pretty outdated. it would be easier and better to get an aftermarket system with all the latest features and technology.

If the 2006 is a DE the answer is a definite no. The radio head unit is a custom fit in the DE but adaptor said are available to allow the fitting of a, smaller, DIN size unit. The earlier, pre 2006 9-5 has a standard double DIN mounting so there isn't space for the later head unit.
