Routine XWD Service on the 2009 9-3 2.0T XWD

The service manual does not list routine service intervals for the basic XWD for my 2009 2.0T 9-3. Question is should a routine service with oil and filter change be made on the XWD and at what mileage? I was thinking about adding a XWD service to my Main service at 60,000, which will double the cost. Any suggestions? Is the oil in the XWD really lifetime and what does that mean?

Called Orio today. Orio suggested changing XWD fluids every 30,000 miles. My service manual does not have a recommendation and only notes XWD service needed. Volvo Haldex 4 systems suggest service at 60,000 miles, but current Buick Regal AWD (Haidex) suggest fluid changes at 30,000 miles. My 2009 9-3 XWD is at 56,000 miles. I think I will have the XWD serviced at or before the 60,000 mile Main Service. What have other Saab owners done? Does XWD service needed mean the fluids need changing or the XWD system must be replaced?

Routine XWD service performed yesterday at 89,100 miles. Since yesterday Service XWD light has come on 5 times. Is there a common issue with routine maintenance of the XWD drive? If the Service XWD warning light comes on again today my 9-3 will be going back to the Saab Service Center tomorrow. Any comments appreciated.

Fault Code 407.04, low fluid code came up on diagnostic. Rear Transfer was top offed. Service Center said likely air bulbs in fluid due to fluid thickness and settling out. Service XWD would come on after driving for about 10 minutes. No problems noted now.

Saab Dr has a 38 minute YouTube video on changing the XWD fluids. Needing to top-off the Haldex fluid is common. Thought everyone would want to know. I think I will keep my change intervals at 30,000 miles.
