    Another option for performance filters

Below are links for performance air filters a nice cheaper alternative to K&N and S&B. I bought one for my 03 9-5 arc and works great.

And incase you want to compare products here is link to the S&B

    And here is the K&N

Have not heard of these filters before. Seem to be just replacement for OEM rather than open air. Are they foam?

Yes they are to replace the OEM instead of doing a CAI/open air

The Pipper is a 3 layer foam set up that seem to catch more dirt then the K&N but still gives the air flow like K&N dose.

I appreciate your input on air filters which has been "forum-ed" to death, Saab OEM filter (or equivalent) good to I believe 350 BHP. Best choice.

I can see why you might want a reusable air filter but I would take some convincing that it was as good a filter as the OEM part unless you are intending to tune the engine for increased performance in which case I would be looking at Abbott Saab who do a range of performance modifications, including air filters. Interestingly they suggest a 2 BHP increase when using an ITG filter.

I know many owners look to the air filter/snorkel mods for cheap HP, but IMHO, an intercooler upgrade would give you more usable cooler air (cooler air being relative).

Also worth remembering that cooler air is more dense so you can add more fuel for a better response. My car certainly performs better when the temperature is lower.

Exactly. Filter/snorkel mods are cheap. ICs, not so much.

A better intercooler provides more power more reliably than does an air filter, which will need regular maintenance to maintain the improvement.
