Saab WIS and EPC for Windows 10

The Saab WIS (Workshop Information System) and EPC (Electronic Parts Catalog) were originally designed for Windows XP 32bit. Credit goes out to captainfrank in the UK who made the Saab WIS and EPC work on the current versions of Windows for both 32 and 64-bit computers. Most computers are 64-bit these days.

The software in the links below should work on both 32 and 64 bit versions of Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10. I assume it will also still run on Windows XP.

I downloaded through my browser and that works great and downloads quickly. Just download the .exe files to your computer and install. You may get a warning about the installation of an app from an unknown publisher.

I installed on my Windows 10 Pro x64 computer and everything seems to be working great. It will put shortcuts for both the WIS and EPC on the desktop.

The Saab WIS and EPC software does not work on Mac OS natively. You can use virtualization software like the free open source software VirtualBox for running a virtual Windows computer inside Mac OS. This requires a licensed copy of Windows.

It is not immediately clear if there is still a copyright on this software. We know that Saab Automobile AB no longer exists but the developer of this software is Sörman Information AB was acquired by CombiTech which is a subsidiary of defence and security company Saab.

The most common use of this software is by Saab enthusiasts for troubleshooting and repairing their own Saabs. As this software is not for sale to the general public, it is common practice to use this software for personal use. Are you talking about the WIS or the EPC? Both seem to work for me and I can select the car model without any issues. But perhaps you mean an other screen?

Should be easy. Select the model, then the year and click OK.

Yes, that is just an explanation of the model codes (9400, 9440 and so on). You can not select anything there.

Hi. Help needed. Tried to download twice and each time near the end of the download I get a 'form' to fill in with my name and password. I then have to agree to the conditions, but can find no button to click to agree. Wouls really like to have the WIS. Is there another link? Many thanks
