Unhappy Problem with indicator the amount of fuel

    HELLO!!!
    The problem is as follows:
Indicator on the dashboard showed very little fuel. SID display showing DTE 48 km.
I stopped at the gas station. I loaded 30 liters of gasoline. Drove the vehicle and was surprised. Indicator of the amount of gasoline in the tank showed the absence of any fuel. The indicator on the dash was stuck in the lowest position. SID display showing DTE ---
Has anyone an idea what the problem is and how to fix it?
Thanks in advance for your opinions!
    Vehicle is
SAAB 9-3 SS Vector, manufactured in 2003, 175 HP, petrol, turbo, VIN: YS3FF49S931006021

Another common issue - needs a $60USD fuel level sensor. You must remove the tank - remove the pump and replace the sender and reassemble. I just did this to ours in fact with 193,000 miles on it. The metal brush contacts deteriorate over time. There was some special coverage on the later 9-3's with this issue - but you will be on your own to fix since you own a 2003. Labor is usually 3 hours in the US plus the part cost if done at a shop or a dealership. I can do them quickly as I've done many.

    Thank you @Burnsside42
Is there something special in the overthrow of the fuel tank?
Can it be done after the vehicle is on a car jack?
Or compulsory car should be on lift?
What is the part number of this spare part (fuel level sensor)?

I've only ever done them on a lift. Anything is possible - but it won't be as easy.

Saab part number is - 22672171
AC Delco numbers are - 19121344 or SK1184
    DORMAN number is - 911016

rockauto has the AC Delco and the Dorman in stock - about $35 plus shipping.

    Thank you @Burnsside42
Helped me a lot with alternative numbers!
I'm from Bulgaria, Europe and the need to buy it from somewhere in Europe.
The U.S. has very reasonable prices. Upon delivery to Bulgaria have customs charges.
If talks between the U.S. and the European Union on a common trade area are positive, it will be better. Ever .............
Once again my heartfelt thanks for the help!
