How to remove this plastic part under the hood?

While vacuuming pine needles from the various nooks on the car, I spotted this pile beneath a plastic grill that's under the hood. Photo taken from the driver's side.

Is this cover something I can remove to thoroughly vacuum out those needles? Looks like they'll be sucked into the air intake for the heater/AC. I have to assume some has already been sucked in.

    Advice?

    Thank you!

This comes off pretty easy and lots of u-tubes on everything from replacing cabin air filters to wiper motors all show how to remove.

Agree. Haynes 9-3 Owners Workshop Manual discusses Pollen air filter on page 1A-12. Windscreen wiper motor removal is on page 12-16. Pictures 12.2, 12.3a, and 12.3b illustrate the cover removal. It's actually not too hard as long as you follow the steps. U-tube videos are pretty good. This can also be done during routine service if you want someone else to do it.
