RPM rises but car doesen accelerate. Clutch?
So Ive had the problem a few times that when im driving at higher speeds and switch gear the RPM:s rise but the car doesent accelerate, like it wouldnt be in gear at all. Could it be possible that the clutch is starting to break down? The gears switch just fine at lower speeds so im doubting that the gearbox has gone bad.

Do you smell the clutch burning? Almost smells like breaks.

Well the clutch does smell from time to time and also squeeks when its pressed. But im starting to think that this problem is related to the turbo. Because when I accelerate to over 80kmph in the fourth gear on the car revs up like crazy, so it seems it has no boost. But then then again the car did give very high RPM:s with the fifth gear yesterday and didint accelerate. So I just might be so lucky that the clutch and the turbo are breaking at the same time.

I would bet it is all clutch. If the RPM's are going up quickly and you're not moving any faster, clutch.

Do you know if it can be fixed with a clutch kit that they sell or are there other parts that usually need replacing too? Thanks for the help.

Yes. I would buy a kit that has the flywheel, clutch and throwout bearing. I've read that you cannot resurface the flywheels in the Saab. I do not know for sure because I am still new to Saabs myself but I've always got my flywheels cut down and resurfaced at my local machine shop.

I seem to only find kits that include the clutch pressure plate, clutch plate and central slave cylinder. Seems that I have to find the throwout bearing sold separately.

If you have in mind to keep your car for long time I will suggest you to choose the Aero reinforced clutch go to Trionic Seven the Saab channel on you tube you will find a vid from Jonathan from Sweden ask him where he has found it.

Im pretty much on a budget so thought about getting this https://www.maptunparts.com/transmis...5-20t-23t.html since the work itself is gonna cost a ton. No way I can do it myself with my skills. But then again if im ever gonna upgrade the turbo to stage 1 a stronger clutch would be nice.

You know that's always a calculation between what's you can what's you want but if i have correctly searching on the site you have only 60 euros more ask them if it's compatible.
