    SAAB 9-5ng 2011 - lost all keys

    Good day all!
Want to ask you about one issue with my friend. He bought a 9-5, 2011 year (SAAB 9-5 NG Linear, YS3GN4AR2B4001918), on salvage auction.
When car arrived in Georgia (not USA), it had no keys at all. Now he has immovable property.

Is there any way to start this car?

    thanks in advance!

Yes, it is. You need to buy a key fob for the car (bear in mind there are several versions in your case you need the 315MHz US version with remote start) and find a sevice station with MDI (GM diagnostic interface) and TIS (software). They will be able to program new fobs to the car even though you don't have any. In case the doors are locked, you need to go to a Saab dealer in order to buy a key to open the door (there's lock cylinder in the driver's door) - any Saab dealer should be able to order the key that matches your cylinder when you provide them the VIN.

    Thanks!

"You need to buy a key fob for the car" - not a problem.

"Find a sevice station with MDI (GM diagnostic interface) and TIS (software)" - this is a real problem, we do not have any dealers here with MDI, TIS and SAAB software.

Can we buy and use any of MDI sold by Aliexpress instead?

    For example:

Before buying the MDI tool I think you need to check that you can get access to TIS from Orio (the saab service and parts provider). My information is that unlike old Tech2 the MDI is needed to connect server to be able to use the MDI and if you buy the MDI from alibaba you don't get the sw needed to operate the MDI.
Correct me if I'm wrong as I'm also interested in purchasing the MDI...

I am not sure if this method requires the key to be inside the FOB, but it can be done from the car.
