hi there iam a new member only got my saab 93 18t vector estate 2.0 turbo auto 1 week ago but its now in at the main vauxhal agents getting new centre consol ignition lock fitted as the old one jamed. is this a common problem with saabs or is it just age related the car is almost 10 years old.

Yes and No. The switch is a big open hole in front of the center counsel cup holder and some problems come with age, others are man made.

thanks for that got my car back 1st january the problem wasnt with the ignition switch although it would not turn on it was with the steering lock had it have a new one fitted going to replace front suspension drop links soon any recommended heavy duty ones thanks

Heavy duty or not, sealed links that can't be lubed don't last as long as the ones that can. Though I can't imagine why you would need these for normal driving and don't know what price and availability is in the UK, if you were in the States I could suggest using links from a Chevy Cobalt SS if you are looking to upgrade for performance driving.
