SAAB 9-3 2007 Convertible Head Unit Replacement / Backup Camera install
Hi everyone.
I just got a 2007 9-3 Convertible and I would like to swap out the head unit stereo for one with Bluetooth which I can control using the steering wheel buttons (my 9-3 has Talk and End buttons for a Bluetooth phone, but has no Bluetooth, the buttons are dead) and I would like to add a back-up camera as well to the car.
I am also thinking about getting a head unit that has Android Auto so I can connect my phone and use Google Maps, Assistant and Waze like this:
https://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-AVH-2...2ZCRAVZZNWEV7D
OR THIS:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073BKPWNC..._t2_B06XCL9HGT
Does my car have a Double Din slot ? Or is it proprietary ?
What other tools or parts would I need besides for this ?
Special parts or connectors ? Crimping tools ?
I work in computer hardware so I don't think this will be too difficult, but I have no experience working on cars thus far.
I know how to solder, but it looks like soldering is not the preferred way.
Any info would be great
