A couple of q's about a 9-5 2.2tid
I got it through a friend but has a few issues as expected..
But one to ask about that i just noticed the other day is tyre size, it has 245/45/17 on the front and 225/45 on the back, imo if was rwd it should be other way but i guess he either got a deal on 245's or though because it's fwd it would be better I'll swap them round but will put 225/45's all round soon or 205 on 16's.
The other one is a running issue and after reading fault codes the dreaded egr and maf are rearing their ugly head, i put a new maf on but having trouble cleaning the egr because the plastic cap won't come off.
All in all though it seems a decent car.....but for quite a big car and a 2.2 lump under the bonnet, only 120 horses is a kind of crap and seemingly can't be remapped just something called steinhauer tuning box to take it to around 145+/- horses
Meant to say it's an 05 estate/wagon manual.

Tyres: The standard tyre for a 2005 9-5 with 17" wheels was 225/45 but later cars, 2006 and on, has 235/45 tyres. I ran my 2005 on 235/45s and found the speedometer was much more accurate than on 225/45s so I would go for 235s all round.
If you do a search of the forum you will find a link to download WIS and EPC, I suggest that you do that as it will allow you to access the manuals for your car and allow you to diagnose the fault codes correctly.

Why would 235s be too wide? They were standard on the DE after all.

DE = Dame Edna a post 2006 9-5 with chrome headlight trim. 235/45 tyres fit perfectly. As I said I ran a 2005 Aero on them for two years without problems
