    2005 9-3t ARC?

Sorry if this was brought up. So everything about my 9-3 says Linear. 2.0t on the trunk I thought was the dead giveaway. After some research on the Vin and seeing the turbo. It is not a Linear! The Vin says ARC and I do not have a Garret turbo. I wanted to do a turbo upgrade and i looked at at turbo and it has Mitsubishi already. The car is a 2 owner, including me and never wrecked. How can this be?

Car reports only show what has been reported. Even with police reported accidents, damage has to exceeded some state specified value to be state reported, anything under that magic number remains a local report and many of those don't show on a car history report. If the local accident damage was fixed without an insurance claim the accident won't show on a car history report. If you were a kid driving your dads car and backed into a mailbox, would you tell your dad, if you and your buddies could get a trunk lid from a yard the same color as the car and get it bolted on before he got home?

The car is 12 years old and the same kind of thing that explains a different trunk lid, can be used to explain a different turbo.

I have seen some posts through the years about the wrong trunk lid emblem applied at the factory. It could be as simple as that and you have an Arc. When I picked up my 2006 Saab 9-3 Arc at the factory, it had unpainted door handles installed so another example of a mistake of Linear equipment on an Arc.

The engine number should tell if you have the B207L 2.0t or B207R 2.0T engine.

The build sheet does have 207R on it.
