$750 Saab 9-5
I found a 1999 Saab 9-5 on C.L. at a auto repair shop for $1600 w/204k on it. It has a new clutch installed and original owner never came back. It has the triangle style wheels and a sunroof. Fog lights and manual trans. Odd thing is there is no boost "gauge" on right top of dash. Anyone know what model it is? Talked shop owner into 750, it drives pretty good and boost kicks in good. Thanks!

The earlier base model 9-5 with the 2.3t engine didn't have turbo gauge from what I remember. Not sure if the SE version and/or the V6 engine had the gauge.

Engine choices:
- 2.3t I-4 170hp/280nm
- 3.0t V-6 200hp/310nm
Base and SE version powered by I-4 or V6 engine
$750 is a good price if it runs good. If you get 3 months of use out of it, still cheaper than a new car payment. I imagine you can still get a few 100 from a wrecker if it dies.
But that's the worst case scenario. There are Saab 9-5 that passed 500K miles and are still running.

Anything can go wrong at any time with a 17 year old car and 200K miles on the odometer. If you can't do service or some repairs yourself, a single visit to the Saab dealer or other specialist can set you back more than the purchase price of this Saab.
Clutch replacement will cost more than $750 so it sounds like the repair shop is trying to sell it for what they have in it in labor and parts at their cost. Not a bad deal at all.

Thanks for the good info. This car will not be my daily. It has a clean title and a very straight body. Upgrading the brakes and getting different wheels are first on the list. A newer 2.3t engine in the future. I do think I got a good deal
