Hi, I replaced both the inner and outer seals of the power steering pump and there were still signs of leakage. The gasket of the ps reservoir cap is still in place though and not dislodged could it be the culprit?

Go see post "Incredible, third Power steering Fluid leak" on saabword.net. Sounds like you have "the third leak". Additionally go to Saabcentral and see "Power Steering Fluid leak". I used AutoPro fluorescent leak detector dye and a UV leak detection kit. I replaced the pump. On Saabcentral they confirm a leaking O-ring is the problem. I had speculated a leaking seal myself. The internal power steering pump o-ring has no Saab replacement part number or procedure for replacing it other than replacing the pump itself. The Saabcentral post describes taking the reservoir off the pump to replace the O-ring with a generic part. There is no way to do that without spilling some power streeing fluid. Good luck. Power steering pumps cost $300 plus. Replacing the O-ring should be cheap but messy.

If you need the cap, they are $25.50 at eSaabparts.com.

I'm wondering if I have cap leak as well. Although the tabs are not broken the metal ring is pretty rusty. It looks like PS fluid is on the top surface of the reservoir as well as top of the cap. Unless my car flips over at night, it would seem strange that a faulty pump seal would cause that type of spray or leakage??? Thank you. Name: Saab2.jpg
