2011 Turbo4 will not start.
Hi Everyone. I hope you are doing well.
I'm having an issue with my 2011 9-5 Turbo4. Recently while waiting at a stop light in neutral, the car stalled, and hasn't restarted since. It is a manual transmission.
The car will turn over normally, and appears to sound normal, but it just won't fire up. It's behaving almost as if it's out of fuel. It has 3/4 of a tank. After letting it sit a day and trying again, I towed it to an independent mechanic who was able to verify that there's adequate fuel pressure being supplied, so I think we've eliminated the pump / relay from the problem. A fuel filter problem would generate rough start, but it shouldn't prevent a start completely.
Specific details as I know them:
- 2011 Turbo4, with manual transmission.
- Only 55k miles (50k of which are mine, I've owned it for almost 6 years)
- New battery approximately 15 months ago.
- New throttle body approximately 10 months ago.
- No engine codes being reported. I have a simple ODBII and I have the same finding as the mechanic in this regard.
I would describe the situation almost exactly as the OP has done in the following thread. As a matter of fact, I had this same issue on a 2000 9-3, and in our case it wasn't the DIC, but rather the crankshaft position sensor.

Fully aware that the engine is the same as the 2012 Buick Regal, I've encouraged the mechanic to debug as he would with that, but he's just not getting anywhere. I also haven't found much in any of the forums discussing the Ecotec 2.0L engine.
So I'm putting this out there in the hopes that someone else has dealt with this!
Thanks for any and all feedback and suggestions!

CPS isn't the only thing that can cause this, but it is the weakest link in the chain and the most likely cause.

While I did buy the car used, it only had 5k miles on it at the time, I'd expect it still to be the factory OEM version.

other CPS brands are know to be unreliable sometimes but finally you don't have any change of the CPS on that car right?

Correct. I have not yet changed it. Will be doing so in the next day or so.
