    Crank with no spark can always be ignition switch, solenoid, security system and such, but the most common cause is the CPS / crank position sensor. Very common failure part.

    Did try to get back to you yesterday, but my Saab World connection was so unstable that I had trouble bringing up the forum and when I finally did I couldn't stay connected long enough to post.

    Assuming that you had a good charge in the battery and took a quick look around for crusty connections while you were under the hood replacing the CPS you have a couple of things to check before you rent an engine scan tool. With the car in park or neutral and a couple of wheel chocks just in case, turn the key to on and jump the starter solenoid to crank the engine. This will prove or eliminate a broken ignitions switch. If that doesn't get the engine to pop pull the DIC along with all the plugs, make a ground cable for all the plugs to the engine block, turn the key to on and jump the starter again to check for spark. As you could already have fuel and spark, do cover all your open plug holes with a moist towel before adding air.
