Radio was working fine. Now it doesn’t turn on
I see the time displayed. But the radio doesn’t turn on. I checked fuses. All are fine. Did the radio die? Is there a diagnostic tool? Is radio married to system? I remove positive terminal to reset. No change. Any advice appreciated. 2007 9-3 Turbo. Convertible. 33,000 original miles. First owner. Mint condition otherwise.

Radio is married to system and amp in trunk has separate fuse.
Did radio die? ........ Clock displays but radio doesn't turn on ........ assume this means that display doesn't change when radio power button is pressed and all fuses good. First owner should mean you would know everything ever done to the car, but it doesn't hurt to check radio plug ends. Most likely cause is lack of use dirty contact radio power switch on 33K mile 13 year old car. If so lots of power button pushing's could fix, contact cleaner should fix and getting cleaner into switch on this GM radio while mounted in dash is as much luck as it is skill.

Thank you for the advice. One other observation: I used the CD player this week for the first time in a long time. It worked fine. Then then next time I turned on the car ignition the CD player played in a loop. I couldn't eject the CD. I couldn't turn off the radio. I turned off the engine. I took the positive connection to the radio. I put it back on. I turned on the engine. Radio would not turn on. Click works. Screen has icon showing CD in player. No buttons work on the radio.

Unplug the CD player, if radio buttons and display start working the player is the problem.

This just got more interesting. I was removing the radio. I tried to pull out the connectors holding the two wiring harnesses. They are stuck. Pushed in each tab. Still stuck. All of a sudden CD player starts playing. Radio buttons still not working. Can adjust volume but that is all. All of this with no key in. Put key in and now I remove key and CD player is off. Put key in and turn it on. CD player is playing. What next? Cannot eject CD. Stuck in a loop of Tony Bennett duets.
