    93 aero wont start 2004

Decided to bring convertible out of winter hibernation, but found it would try to start but not quite, seems like something is telling it to stop.

The battery is new and I can here the fuel pump working ok,i did have some issues with the key and the locking last year but never any starting problems.
Ive had problems in the past with the ignition key not turning on occasion but usually works after some trying, the central locking wont work either now,not sure if thats related.

Borrowed a scanner this morning and the codes coming up are ;p1523 & p0638 ?

Car has been sitting and you have throttle body and position codes, so your butterfly isn't moving or reading like it should. Give your throttle body a good cleaning, reset your codes, turn the key to on and watch your to see that your throttle body goes full open and close. If it moves like it should put the air hose back on and start the car.

If it doesn't move like it should, pull the battery cable and reseat the connectors on the ECU, throttle and throttle body a couple of times, put the battery cable back on and try again.

Central locking ----- when frustrated by another problem, it's real easy to forget that you need to re-synch both fobs to the car after you've disconnected the battery.

did exactly what you said, the throttle body throat was pretty gunked up,gave it a good clean out.put it back together and after a little persuasion to start the butterfly moving at first it was soon moving fine on its own,put it all back together and started no problem.##
    Many Thanks
