TPMS Change
As some of you have come to realize the OEM TPMS units are vastly overpriced. With install can run over 400.00. That struck me as a bit high. At first I orded 4 of the the units from China. Several did not work after install and, of course, for a refund they wanted them back. Good luck with that. So I am out 80.00. Then I went to a new Discount Tire who installed 4 of their own for 40.00 each with a 10.00 install charge. They then rotaled and rebalanced my tires. I thought that was a pretty good deal. I had both our 9 5 and 9 3 done. They dont even remove the tires from the rim.

A brief story on the subject if I may. The Airbus A320 was originally delivered with a TPIS (Tyre Pressure Indication System) with the early aircraft it worked reasonably well but later ones had a reliability problem. It was bad enough that a colleague and I devised a two stage method of deleting it, and convinced the airworthiness department that it was legal. From my experience I wouldn't have the system except at a substantial discount. Unfortunately it appears that I won't get the choice unless I stick to older cars.
