Question Replacing the 2011 9-3 Estate Number Plate Light

    Hi!
I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction...
I recently found out that it wasn't simply the bulbs in the number plate light that was faulty, but the bulb holder itself had rusted away completely. I was wondering if the lamp housing is a part of the exterior trim assembly? Or if I can buy the housing separately? What part is that I need to fix this?

Can provide pictures if needed. All help is very welcome! :-)

So, an update... I assume, from looking through the EPC, that I need the part marked in the attached image (part #12784439). How would I go about finding where to buy it? And what is that part actually named? In the EPC it just says "housing"...

That is great!! Thank you so much!

Now, because I am brand new to this, how can I confirm if this includes the electrical stuff... The bulb holders in particular.

    Hi
Didn't realise you had EPC , Have you thought about looking around a scrap yard or car breakers ( google translater says "skrap yard eller bil brytere" ) not sure what you would call them and sorry I cannot recommend anyone local to you, as I'm in the UK

If you just need the lamp holders and not the entire assembly https://www.google.com/search?biw=13....0.mMbKElnfpdM

@Digger: Thanks! I do only need the lamp holders! Do you now those will fit?
However, I'm in Norway, Europe, so Home Depot isn't any good to me. But now I know what to look for! :-)

These lamp holders will work, they do need some extra work to attach them to the assembly bracket. As Saab was built in Europe they probably used locally available lamp holders and you might not need to do any extra work to fit what you can buy locally.

New question in this thread... I have got the parts I need, and have taken out the inner panel from the tailgate and the trim from around the window. Then I loosened the four bolts from the inside. But I cannot get the external plate loose. The one with the emblem that lies on the outside of the housing. It is very loose after removing the four nuts from the inside, but it is seems to also be locked in place towards each end with some kind of clip? I cannot for the life of me understand how that works?!
