    Saab 9-5 Boost Control Solenoid (BPC) buzzing and turbo gauge oddity

    I am trying to track down some electrical gremlins and noticed that the BPC solenoid buzzes quietly both in idle and with the ignition on but the engine not running. Is this normal or could it be more gremlins?


    Also, should the stock turbo gauge read above zero with the key on but the engine not running? Mine reads about 1/3-1/2 of the way up with the key on but engine not running and then drops back down after ignition while at idle.

    9-5 ARC Wagon 2002 2 t auto engine B205E
    your BPC seems to going South no buzzing in normal situation the noise come certainly from bad solenoid ..you can test it with a multimeter it must be at 7 ohms

    Thanks, resistance checks out, and a second valve does the same thing. Buzzing is maybe too dramatic, it is a very quiet ticking, almost too quiet to hear. Can also be felt if I touch the solenoid. Should the BPC be energized with the ingition ON but the engine not running? The feed comes from pin 13 on the ECU. Is this live by default with the ignition in the ON position? WIS isn't clear on this point.
