    2004 95 Arc

    TD04

    I know I know, Im starting a new thread about the TD04 upgrade. Ive searched and I just cant find any concrete answers. I apologize.

    Anyway, I have a 2004 Saab 9-5 Arc I purchased not too long ago. I noticed a weird sound when the boost would get up to the orange. It almost sounds like a dentist drill (not every time just sometimes). Figured its the turbo.

    So i have purchased a TD04 (new) from eeuropeparts and the Aero conversion kit.

    So my question is, will that conversion kit cover all that I need to replace the turbo? Ive read the coolant and oil lines are different, but will this kit cover it? Should i get a better intake pipe for this turbo?

    I noticed this intake pipe is listed for 95s up until 2003. Will it fit my 2004?

    previous: 2006 9-3, 2001-06 9-5, 2011 9-4X
    The 2004 9-5 Arc with the 2.3T engine already has the TD04 turbo so you shouldn't have to replace any lines or other things besides the ECU. The different lines are only needed when replacing the GT17 turbo on the 2.3t Linear engine with the TD04.

    Ah I was not aware it had a TD04 already in it. Well that makes things weird. It only has 125k miles on it, I thought these turbos were sturdy.

    Another poster mentioned a sound thats similar to mine. Its like someone blowing on a glass bottle. I wonder if its just a lose hose or something. Interesting.

    Just took a look, i tightened up one hose that seemed a little lose. I saw another thing though thats a little puzzling.

    The piece (no idea what its called) thats at the end if the air intake hose has a spot for 3 little hoses to connect. For whatever reason, the top hose is disconnected with a bolt covering it. Nothing is hooked into the top spot where this hose should be. Should i take out the bolt and connect it onto that spot? If I knew how to upload pictures I would show you

    There a good shops in Omaha. Just google it and get a diagnosis. Does not sound like a turbo failure.
    the bolt in the hose we all do to compensate for a failed check valve. So leave it be. No repair needed

    If you want to check your turbo, pull the intake hose off the turbo, grab the lock nut on the turbine and try to move it up down and in an out. There should be no play. Play in the shaft could mean your turbine fins are rubbing the housing. This will definitely lead to turbo failure.

    That mean the bolt trick was doing for compensate a bad turbine shaft, meaning to turbo failure like others have stated above..I'll bet for that
    if you change your turbo don't avoid to change the valve too...a good check at tubes all around is recommended.

    That bolt trick has nothing to do with turbo. Where did get this from?
