brake lights
Hi, my brake lights are on but when I step on the brakes they do not light up. any suggestions? I tried changing the bulbs and I still am getting the message "brake light failure"'

Not sure what you mean with the brake lights are on but they do not light up?
Sedan or wagon?

Thank you for replying. I have a 2006 9-5 sedan. My right side brake light was out, so I replaced it. Right after I replaced it, the message center on dashboard said "brake light failure"

My husband checked the lights while my foot was on the brake pedal and they did not get brighter while I had my foot on the pedal. They look the same as if the brake pedal was not stepped on. I hope I explained this ok!!

Are the new bulbs the exact same model number as specified in the owners manual?
