9-3 cranks forever but won't start.
Help!
My 9-3 2000 petrol won't start.
Fuel pump is ok, she's got a new battery and new coil.
Worked perfectly for a day after changing the battery, same with the coil. But is back to just cranking the next morning.
Runs beautifully when roll-started and no noises when driving.
No difference if she's warm or cold.

Think you might be right about the ignition switch. Do you have any idea of where I can get a new one that doesn't cost a fortune?

Don't know what this part costs where you are and my Saab has the newer fob switch so I can't offer much help. But, if time hangs heavy on your hands and you don't mind spending a month to save a few kroners, you are in Norway and most of the Euro car ignition switches I've seen are made in Germany by Huf or Gehl, search the catalogs or go to the factory and find the electrical contact section that looks like yours and you have direct price sourced the part.

After hours spent changing the ignition switch, still no difference.. Checked all contacts and no loose wires.
Is there any hope left for my dear olÂ’ Saab?

Just a guess but perhaps the Crankshaft Position Sensor is bad?

To be honest, I have very little car knowledge but according to my dad it doesn’t have a CPS because it has a distributor(?)
But there is another sensor that we’re going to try to switch out. Hopefully that’ll work.

A 2000 9-3 does not have a distributor.
Has said cps sensor. Which is located on the front of the engine below the exhaust manifold on the right hand if your viewing by standing in front of the car.

Had a quick look under the hood for myself and couldn't find the CPS, but it sure does have a distributor.
My phone was dying so horrible picture.

If you’re car is a automatic that is a vacuum pump and not a distributor. You have the coil pack fitted for the spark plugs. If you had a distributor it would have spark plug cables.
