    95 Brake light issue

    Good afternoon,
    I have just purchased a lovely Saab 95 2005
It has a brake light issue, where i see on the SID Brake Light Failure..

I have noticed / done the following if you could then give me some pointers / advice what to do next.

With all lights OFF i press the brake pedal and brake lights work fine.

If i switch on the side light which seem quite bright them press the brake pedal i dont notice any brake light, possibly because the side light are so bright ?

The high level brake light is working.
I have removed & replaced the 4 brake bulbs.
2 in the side lens with the indicator.
2 in the tailgate with the reverse lights.

I have replaced like for like where i notice even though they look the same the pin configuration was slightly different.

So i am now wondering what the next step is.

    Many thanks.

As you've noticed yourself the pins was different might be that if you have a message on SID be sure to use absolute right models specially for the right brake bulb who's related with the front electrical stuff and could cause issues somehow

I checked the bulbs with the holders and I’m happy that the bulbs in use are correct.
All the pins sit where they should so this problem is something else.

I have a constant brake light failure warning in my 2002 9-5 aero.

All my lights work. I believe the problem has to do with the specific amperage of the lights.

While there are lights that are like the factory oem ones, they seem harder to find.

Potentially, you purchased new tail lights from the auto store, they said they are compatible, but the amperage (or whatever other word is supposed to be used) is slightly off. This seems to set off the warning.

In my experience some light bulbs can go in two ways and also the wiring loom on my boot I had to strip out and totally replace. Real pain in the ass and then I got confused on what was what as they all look the same !

    Worth it in the end
