2007 9-5 Front bumper cover repair

Does anyone out there have a fix for replacing a broken/missing bumper cover tab? The screw tabs on the drivers side wheel are both broken so I cannot secure the bumper cover. The top one broke on the bend and is completely missing. The bottom one broke in half. I saw a video with a 3M compound which might work for the bottom one, but the top one is gone. I was wondering if anyone out there came up with DIY solution. My thought is to make an angled piece out of metal and epoxy it to the inside of the cover. Suggestions/comments?

Quick fix for broken tab is use the special tool, if you don't have one using a soldering pencil or wood burning kit to melt the broken edge back into place works well enough to get the job done. Do a couple of practice melts where it doesn't matter before going in for the fix.

Making a tab out of metal also works and works well if you get the plastic clean enough to bond the first time.

Know this is overkill for this question, but it is as easy as it looks and some Saab bumper skins are tough to find https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FEGb4ofbGOE

Thanks Digger. Unfortunately, I don't have the tab to re-install. The video is good stuff. I could use that also where the previous owner hit something if only I had the patience and skills to make it look as good!

With the plastic rod you can attach it, make a loop and squeeze it flat to make a new tab. Skill comes with experience and patience is a perception. The first plastic bumper I fixed didn't look as good as the one in the video, but it looked a heck of a lot better than what I started with and a good 20, 20, 20, 20 job. $20 in materials, 20 minutes to fix the tear and from 20 feet away or 20 MPH, you couldn't tell it had been torn. Haven't had to fix to many tears, usually just fix corner dents for the neighbors and their kids.
