Unhappy Temperature gauge and Check Engine Light

    Hello to all,

Here is my question. I am driving to work and my Temp. Gage drops to "0" then a little later
my check engine light comes on. come out to go home and Temp. Gage reading normal.
put my scanner on car comes up with a P0116. I think it is the Temp. sensor, if so where is it
( I think I know just double checking ) How hard is it to change and will I need a special wrench.

    Thanking everyone in advance.

It is most likely the thermostat that needs to be replaced. It's not very difficult to do yourself. It is common to replace the temp sensor at the same time. More info here: http://saabworld.net/showthread.php?t=1019

I did have the thermostat and the sensor replaced, everything is good to go. Would have done it myself if I had a garage oir if the temp. was over 36F
