2007 9-5 2.3T P1453 Code
While driving this morning, I was going uphill and I felt a rumble for a second or two and the CEL came on. The car did not stall and continued to drive. The rumble felt like I hit a rumble strip on the side of the road, but there were none on this road. I checked the code and it read P1453 which is a fuel tank evaporator pressure sensor. I did just have my fuel pump replaced so maybe it's related. I've also read that it may be a bad wire in the connector. Anyone else have this code pop up? The car continued to drive normally after that. I cleared the code and will see if it comes back, which I expect it will. In retrospect, I probably shouldn't have cleared the code and just brought it back to the shop that did the fuel pump. Any insight would be appreciated.

Pull open the fuel pump access port under the rear seat and check the condition of the plugs and wires. I had the evap sensor code, and when I pulled the access port I found some hungry rodents had chewed through the wires to the evap sensor and also stripped the insulation off most of the fuel pump wires. Cheeky little bastids!

There is a hatch, just not enough room in the new units to change pump

I pulled the cover off over the weekend and really didn't see anything that looked out of the ordinary. Admittedly it was a quick look, but there's not a lot of room to move things around. At least it's not affecting the performance of the car right now. it seems to drive fine. from what I've been able to find on the web, this is more of an emissions thing than an operational thing, but that doesn't explain the strange rumble when it first appeared.

Perhaps you hit a rabbit. That's kind of what they feel like.

I didn’t see any VW’s! LOL I don’t know what the rumble was, but I think it was coincidence and not related at all to the CEL.
