Seeking to repair my sub-woofer (HK Prestige system in 1999, 9-5 sedan). I found a thread which described accessing the speaker from the top of the rear parcel shelf by removing the grille. Further described cutting some material to remove the speaker. Is this the right way (only way) to access the sub-woofer? Instructions, tips appreciated.

Is this part of the procedure?
"You must take rear seat/wall panel off and then the rear sill panel off (it goes from left rear to right rear) then you can take off the right rear inner panel off." I believe this is regarding the wagon, though.

I've a wagon, and yes, that's the wagon procedure. I would bet you can get the subs out from the trunk without doing any cutting.
I replaced the one in my wagon, I've seen some hack jobs where the grill was cut, but the panels all can be removed and the subwoofer assembly pulled as a unit without any damage to the interior. I found an inexpensive dual voice coil 2 ohm sub that dropped right in and works a treat.

Thanks for the info.
