Dice que reduce los errores de encendido y que la carga de la batería funciona mejor. (It is supposed to reduce ignition errors and improve charging)
If that is correct the real cause is that the main earth strap is corroded/broken/loose and needs to be replaced. Hanging in an additional earth is very poor engineering practice, it is just covering up the real problem.

[/ QUOTE]
Would this extra dough cable be harmful?

Potentially, if it means that you hide a fault with the main earth strap. It is unlikely that most people would use a cable as large as the main earth strap so that, if the main earth strap failed, the secondary earth would take the whole cranking current and could catch fire.

It is something serious about the fire. I will proceed to eliminate it. Many thanks for sharing wisdom

May I make it absolutely clear, if anyone has an ignition problem the first thing to check is the main engine earth strap, additional earth straps or wires between the engine and the car body may appear to solve the problem but they are merely masking the underlying fault with the main earth.

As mentioned above such additional earthing presents a serious risk to the vehicle and its occupants. The designers at Saab knew their business.
