‘04 9-3 Arc “Gearbox malfunction. Limited performance.”

I bought a 2004 9-3 Arc, yesterday. Only problem it when I checked it out was a blinker bulb. This morning I open the passengers door to a weird clicking noise, “traction control malfunction” displayed and she won’t turn over...try to jump it still won’t turn. Give one more try and she starts without skipping a beat. Now the check engine light is on, traction control dummy light and display reads “gearbox malfunction. Limited performance.” And it shift gears really hard, slammed into reverse. I disconnected the battery and pulled the #2 fuse from the panel box under the hood. It’s shifting better but all codes came back. Ordered cps as I can’t find one locally. Help, any advice is welcomed.

Go under the hood and check all of your ground connections, make sure that they are clean and tight, then check your battery voltage. Saab isn't alone in odd electrical and operational problems caused by low battery voltage, they were just a few years ahead of the US auto makers.

Go out in the morning to mess with some other stuff, little tweaks I’d needs/I want, let it run for a little while during that time. Start it to head out for my tire appointment and all the codes have cleared. I’m going to take that as a strong indication that the issue is something bug/update related and not something serious!
