2011 9-5 needs new rotors. Size help, please?

Hello, Saab World, and thanks for your help!

I just bought a used 9-5 2.0T and it needs front rotors.

When trying to purchase the correct size rotors, online vendors ask if I have the Performance package, or need either size 321mm or 296mm. Vendors also provide conflicting information...some say the Performance package had 321s, others say it had 296s.

The original owner didn't spare any expense, as he purchased the Technology package and 6-speed automatic transmission, but not sure about a Performance package.

Research hasn't turned up any mention of a Saab Performance package for the car. I can say that it does NOT have the Interactive Driving System (drive sense) so maybe that indicates NO performance package.

I do have upgraded 18" rims, not the 17's, running 245/45/18s, but unsure if that's a clue.

Also, as an aficionado, what rotor brands might you recommend in the medium price range?

    Thanks much!

    Hello,

My 2011 9-5 has a black identification plate with a serie of letters that can identify which brakes, dampers, discs and so on. It is located in the door opening or in the engine bay.
With that information I can help you further.

I live in Sweden but it should be the same codes.

    regards
    Jan

I went for Brembo parts with protective layer against rust. My front discs on both sides was of balance. Feels like a new car now!

    Hi, Jan!
and thanks for your response to my rotor question. I couldn't find a black label in the engine compartment other than emissions information, but here's the one from the driver side door, thanks!

Best to actually measure your rotors before ordering, in my case the label didn't match the car. When I bought rotors for my Saab I used the code to order the rotors and when they arrived the rear rotors didn't fit my car, the front rotors fit the rear and I needed to get larger front rotors. Eventually gave the rear rotors to another Saab owner as they cost more to return than I paid for them.

Got it, Digger, unfortunately the 321s are already enroute, hope I don't share your experience, but stay tuned, and thanks!

hI, Jan,Well, the rotor size you recommended were a perfect fit, the Akebono brake pads (ACT 1404) were too large. Are you able to tell me from these numbers which part number I need for proper fitting brake pads? Thanks again!

Go there - http:// https://www.esaabparts.com/saab/95ng/ - put in your VIN number and it will spit out all about your car including brake pads that in your case are:
    Brake Lining Pa4668.
