New Saab Owner - Help with plug/bung under engine

    Hi All,

I have been surfing around this forum for a couple of years and finally decided to buy myself a SAAB. Picked up a 2006 9-5 Sedan with 138000 miles on it and drove it home on Monday.

Tuesday, using your excellent write ups, changed the plugs and put a new battery in...thing the old one had been sitting a while and wouldn’t take a charge.

This evening my Air Filter arrived so I hopped under the car to change it out and noticed a rubber stopper / bung hanging down near the front of the vehicle in the middle. Maybe 12 inches from the front of the bumper. When I looked closer, there is a hole (with threads) a couple of inches from where the plug /stopper was hanging down. I have searched around the forum and online and cannot figure out what it could be... I’ve attached a couple of photos and would be very appreciative if someone can enlighten me.....?

    Many thanks.

OK guys I think I’ve figured it out.. it appears to be the ‘Front Towing Eye Mounting’ and the plug to fill it when not in use. Maybe that will help, someone else out who is wondering :-)

You're quite right. It's also the best spot to jack the front of the car up
