engine cleaning?
Wondering if anyone has used ATF or Seafoam or Marvel Mystery Oil, in the engine oil to help clean the slug?

This is a GM Echotech engine and people have used almost everything to clean with varied results, Depending on mileage and engine condition, sometimes best to leave the engine alone, just pull the pan and clean the bottom and pump screen.
Before full synthetic oil became the thing, Rislone was the best for cleaning turbo engines, unfortunately, you don't know until after you have done the job and start burning oil, if the sludge you removed from everything was also the sludge that was keeping your worn seals from leaking.

This is the before and after using seafoam to help maintain a sludge free engine. I change it every 5k and use Amazon Basics full synthetic, It says to add 1oz for every quart and drive it around for 100 to 300 miles before changing the oil. I put in 4oz and drove only 20 miles to start with. Ill keep you updated on the out come of this. Digger, one last question, I watched a vid on youtube from the channel called "project farm" and he had an oil tournament very cool, so my question is can I add one quart of Red Line then the other 5 quarts of Amazon Basics with out hurting anything? The reason for doing this is the Red Line has a ton of additives compared to all other brands but is very expensive. (spoiler alert-Amsoil signature wins)

In my opinion Red Line is top of the line for maintaining a clean engine, way to good for some things and some things should never be cleaned. I would use it in my known maintenance 145K mile Saab, but not a chance in heck that I will pour it down the throat of the 18 year old 194k mile Tahoe that bought at auction last week.
