    doesn't turn over

Sometimes when we turn the key the motor doesn't spin over. Nothing happens. If she keeps playing with the key put it in turn it take it back out move the shifter start over it will start . I am thinking either the key isn't turning far enough or maybe neutral safety switch. How do I check them. I am a mechanic but not sure were to look.

I'm new to Saabs and not a mechanic. I can replace items easily enough but not so good at diagnostics. Anyway, probably unrelated but, I've noticed that whem I have to key in the on position, listening to music and such while I clean or dismantle parts, the engine wont start unless I remove the key entirely and reinsert it. Fires right up after that.

Try starting in the neutral position if starts it the SNOW SWITCH if not maybe a bad ground that gets enough power from battery on second try to start.
Let us know how you come out!!!

Like I said I am in this business and have been for a long time. We try the neutral thing and wiggle the shifter . Nothing it just takes a few tries. until it goes

Haha I had a mechanic tell me my starter was bad.....
It was a ground... never hurts to find unscrew clean and screw back on...
Can be security module of ignition switch... key unless bent can't be the problem even if there's no battery in the key
