    2004 Saab 93 Arc 2.0t wheels compatibility

    Hi Guys,
I'm new on the forum so thanks to everyone for the precious experience that you share here.

I'm planning to change the wheels of my y3sf 2004 Saab 93 Arc 2.0t

Now i've this 16" wheels 6.5Jx16, the offset is 41:

I'm planning to fit this 17 " wheels 7Jx17H2, i think that they came from Saab 95 or previos model 93 y3sd, the offset is 45:

As you can see i've done a trial fitting, I noticed that the wheel is closer to the brake caliper than the originals wheels but from what I see they do not touch anywhere. The wheels are without tires and I have not had the opportunity to test them on the road.
My question is: are these wheels suitable for my car without wheel spacers or the 4mm offset inward difference can give me problems ?? Has anyone done this test??

In the 2003-2005 era, Saab appeared to have a brake shortage so they were putting different sizes of brakes on the 9-3. I believe the Arc had 302 mm front and 292 mm rear vented. The Linears were supposed to have 283 mm front and solid 278 rears. My 2005 Linear had 292 mm vented rears.

I think your wheels will work. Unsure if you get 9-5 wheels that are 49 mm offset, though.

I eventually used my stock 16" wheels for winter tires. I then bought ASA JH8 17" wheels for summer use. The center bore and bolt pattern were correct. The offset was, I believe, 40.

Thanks Dave for the precious data.
I've ordered the tyres so once ready I will do again a trial fitting and see if it will be all OK.

I used ASA JH8 wheels, 17 x 7.5, offset 40. With those, I was able to fit 235/45R17 tires. That was the size for the 9-3 Aero. Some Saab 9-3 were fitted with 225/--R17, I think 225/45R17.

If you use the 45 offset wheels, there is a possibility that 235/45R17 may rub on occasions, like when turning and hitting a bump. On the other hand, maybe it will be fine. However, 225/45R17 might be an even safer choice if someone is concerned.
