    Need Key Programmed in Michigan

Hello everybody - I am SE Michigan and I need a second key programmed to a 2004 Saab 9-3. If anyone could recommend a person or shop that has a properly setup Tech2 and could perform this task. I would even rent/borrow the Tech2 and do it myself.

    Thank you in advance!
    -Jeff

There are 4 Saab Service Centers in SE Michigan. They will be able to program a key.

Thanks for your reply. I did contact one of them and they wanted $300. I was hoping to do it cheaper than that. At that price I think I would just purchase a Tech2 and do it myself.

Ouch, that's a lot of money for just programming a key. You can check with the Great Lakes Saab Club and see if they know any independent repair shops or Saab enthusiasts with a Tech2.

That was my thought when I got that same price from the local GM service location to program my headlights, so I purchased my own Tech 2 and it has paid for itself seven times over the total cost which included the used XP operating system laptop with 9 pin serial port and Saab TIS for security access. It also took me a full month of research coupled with trial and error program loading and reloading XP to get the right XP drivers and software loading sequence to get TIS operational.
