    Codes P0646, P1682, P0691, P0693, P0686, P0687

I have an ‘07 9-3 2.0T. I went to the dealership to have an airbag recall done, ecu checked for updates and have fog lights activated. The paper work they gave me said the tech II pulled codes P0646, P1682, P0691, P0693, P0686, P0687. Car runs ok when cold but when engine and outside temps get high, I could probably push the car faster than it will go on it’s own. When it’s hot I’m lucky if I get 1/4 boost in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear and at best 3/4 boost in 4th and 5th. Any ideas? Car has 22X,XXX miles and is an automatic.

If it weren't for all the electrical codes I would go right to valves on an 07 with 22xxx miles. With all these cooling fan codes I suggest you start under the hood with fuses and get your cooling fans working.

It runs great when it’s cold but HORRIBLE when it’s hot. It starts up perfectly when it’s cold or anytime below 75*-80*. If the ambient temp his higher than that or the engine bay is hotter than that it is very hard to start and runs extremely rough once started.

Almost a dozen different things can make your car start and run like it's got a stuck mechanical choke and your codes all point to AC and main cooling fan voltage problems. If your cooling fans turn on, are they spinning fast and blowing a hurricane force wind, or are they spinning slow like a barbershop ceiling fan?

If you fans are moving air like they should, the next time it has a rough warm start unplug the MAS and try again. If your car starts and runs as it should replace the MAS asap, do not continue to drive anymore than it takes to get home or get a replacement, the car might run fine but continued use will cause a more expensive problem.
