Juddering, oil pressure light, poor performance. Advise please.

I know it seems like another moan, but hear me out.

Previous 9-5’s I’ve own were a 2.0lpt saloon, 2.0lpt estate with 192bhp upgrade, 2.3lpt saloon and now the Aero.

    Between the 2.3 and the Aero, I’ve had a 2.2Hdi Citroen C5, Volvo V70 D5 and a Peugeot 508 RXH Hybrid.

Performance wise I reckon their all a lot quicker off the mark than the Aero, 3rd gear 30+ acceleration is great, but 1st and 2nd seems poor. Is this normal?

Since I serviced it on Tuesday, I’ve suffered with an occasional oil light on the dash. The oil level is between 3/4 and full. I’ve never filled a car to full since owning the V70 as oil pressure above 3/4 causes a error. The old oil, was metallic looking with a distinct odour of fuel. If I’m labouring under low revs the oil light will flash on in 1st gear. It happened tonight when the other half was turning in the work car park.

The cars been juddering almost like clutch/flywheel since the first 20mins of ownership. There is a more distinct know low down around the footwell area. I have ordered a rear engine mount and a poly bush for the torque mount. I’m hoping that will cure it.

Any my info on where I should be looking to rectify these issues?

Next are the front shocks and 4 tyres, tart up the bodywork. Everything goes ok then it’ll stay otherwise.....

    Lex,
Juddering , the older injector models had a sensor connection located on part of air intake housing. May check wire to sensor no gas and metal maybe be gasket head.

    Huey,

The head gasket thought had crossed my mind, as the coolant was a dusky pink colour with a slight offish odour. That could be just down to age though.

Forgot to add that it’s a 2002. The engine looks for the most part same as the 1998 2.3 SE I used to have. It’s not the Mass air flow sensor your referring to? Sits behind the headlight? As that does look “dusty”.

I’m thinking I’ll drop the sump and recheck to with I have a spare half hour or so at work today, (I’m working all weekend).
