Is it possible on a 9-5 aero 2000?

I think it is possible but space is really tight in there as you probably know. Here are instructions for replacing the regulator:

Thank you I looked over that post. Guess it's going to be a matter of luck. If anyone has done this without removing the alt please chime in.
Could you link me to the best writeup for alternator replacement (I'll be searching as I write this)

While I didn't make a tutorial or provide instructions, I did find a post on another forum that was very helpful. More info here: http://saabworld.net/showthread.php?...9254#post69254

I was able to get it out easily enough by jacking up the engine (block of wood between oil pan and Jack) and just keep lifting a little at a time until you have room to slide it out. I had found a good write up somewhere (might have been on another forum. Can't remember) but they had step by step photos of getting it out. Their post said 6-8 hours to do it. I had it replaced in under two hours (thanks to the write up).

I do have a floor jack with 2 jack stands, so I'm confident if I needed to I can do the full job. Hope it won't be necessary.
