    Rear Camera Need Recommendation

Wife’s 09 Combi. She wants a rear view camera. Any recommendations?

Go Wireless with infrared for night visibility about $40 online. Camera hooks to reverse light wires, transmits to a screen powered by cig plug and mount anywhere. I hard wired and hung mine from the headliner just behind the sunshade, works great to show what is directly behind the car where you should be looking when you are backing as they display direct behind and not rear fender area.

No brand recommendation. Mine is several years old and now in my Tahoe. It is similar to this but made before infrared was available and cost more.

I say go wireless because the install is easy. My brother bought a much better quality digital display that requires pulling cable through the car from camera to monitor and he got as far as mounting the rear camera. I got the cheaper camera, remote transmitter, display with built in receiver package and installed in less than 2 hours. If you don't have homelink built into the mirror, the mirror display type is even easier to install. The hard wired are instant picture, the wireless transmitters take about 5 sec to synch when you shift into reverse and except for the camera mounting bracket most of what I found online for less than $40 is better than what I'm using.
