Issue with the heater fan control

Hi guys new to this great Forum, issue is with the heater fan control. It goes on and off at will and at same time closes other lights erc down on the same control panel then often after travelling a few miles will come on OK? Need this to work as cold weather coming in and cannot get the screen cleared in time.

Only thing ive noticed with my '99 is in "auto" mode, the fan wont come on until the enging is warm enough. Its a nice feature as in my wife's car, she like to blast the fan the second she starts the car and then complains that its not blowing hot. I tried to explain to her that the heater core is like a radiator and pulling cold air through it only cools off the coolant and actually make it take a little longer for the car to warm up.

First off What year is your car and trim model. Secondly searching other forums for this issue I’ve come up with a possible diagnostic being the blend door mechanism being either faulty or failed. Are you only getting cold or hot air? Or can you not adjust your temp as desired?
