Has anyone wrapped their cat before? I was told it was a good idea because of the proximity to the oil pan. I also think I am leaking from the oil pressure switch and its dripping on the cat or pipe and I can smell something burning at idle.
I have another engine on a pallet in my garage and it appears that the oil switch could be reached from the side instead of underneath? I'm assuming if the vacuum lines to the intake/booster/pump were out of the way it could be done that way? Or does the starter really need to come out and it has to be done from the bottom?

I have wrapped my Cat with a ceramic heat protection strip (1200°C) to reduce the oil temperatur in the pan.
Works fine for more as 6 years (Saab 9-5, 2001, 210PS nordic tuning)
For the oil switch is the best to take out the starter. Upper bold is to loose from the top , the 2nd from the bottom.
Working from the bottom. Itīs need 30 min.

for example:

Also possible to get it in some motor cycle shops.
If you use it first time it could be possible that itīs smells a little bit when it becomes warm temperature.
