No start, no crank, nothing 2001 9-5 SE V6 Wagon

I went to start my car after shopping and it wouldn't start. The battery is brand new even trying to jump it, still nothing but a single click sound. There was no issue until that last stop. Could someone please give me some suggestions on what the issue is? Very frustrated.

Sounds like the starter solenoid isn't making properly. On the 9-5 the solenoid also engages the pinion with the ring gear on the flywheel , until it is engaged the starter won't turn. If it were a manual I would suggest putting it in gear and rocking it backwards and forwards to shift the flywheel slightly but you can't do that with an auto. Probably needs a new starter motor, sorry.

Is possible to just replace the Solenoid? Or do I have to replace the whole starter?

They are a single assembly so, as you have to remove the whole lot anyway, you might as well just get a replacement starter.
