Code B2485, bluetooth antenna
I have a 2009 Saab 9-3 2.0T XWD. The OnStar dash button light changed from green to red today. When OnStar was called the system worked but OnStar remote diagnostics identified an OnStar fault code of B2485. This is a problem with the Bluetooth wireless communication antenna. The Saab part is 15938939 and eSaabParts has a picture placing it somewhere under the windshield wipers in the middle. I can not find directions on the exact location or instructions on how to replace the part. If anyone has had this problem and replaced the part, I would appreciate any instructions you could give me. Also if anyone else knows the part location or how to replace the part just jump right in to this discussion. Thank you.

I believe I was looking at the 9-4X diagram instead of the 9-3. Looks like the bluetooth antenna connects to the Onstar Navigation control unit under the back parcel shelf trim. I still need to confirm this conclusion. WIS does not give instructions on replacing the bluetooth antenna. The Onstar Navigation control unit or VCIM, vehicle communication interface module, can be accessed by the trunk (it is on the bottom side of the trunk lid) or by removing the parcel shelf. The eSaabParts diagram for the 9-3 has the bluetooth antenna attached to the Navigation control unit(part 22831419) for the 2009 9-3 sedan. I think this is for the base radio unit.

I have confirmed for the 2009 9-3 XWD 2.0T that the Onstar bluetooth antenna is in the trunk on the bottom of the trunk lid, inside the trunk. There are multiple ways to access the antenna; remove the partial shelf to access from the top, lay on your back to access it in the trunk from the bottom, fold down the rear seat to access directly, or remove the VCIM to remove. The bluetooth antenna did not release and slide off for me, so I did not replace it. I did not try to force it, since I did not want to damage a dod antenna or the VICM. In the meantime Onstar has worked without problems. The current theory is that the Onstar cellular function was blocked temporarily for the Daytona 500 race due to the President's visit to Daytona for the race. At my next Saab service I plan to have the B2485 code cleared after observing Onstar for any further problems before replacing the bluetooth antenna if it even ever needs replacing. My 2008 9-3 2.0T does not have this bluetooth antenna.
Further, my iPhone 10 will try to par with the Onstar bluetooth but requests a pin which is not simply my Onstar pin. I think I have seen a video on a bluetooth connection in a 2009 9-3 Aero with the Navigation radio. Since I have an active Onstar system and the bluetooth antenna with the base radio, could a Tech 2 or my Saab Service Center program my 2009 9-3 XWD 2.0T to a use bluetooth connect for my iPhone 10? In other words could I use the OME system if it is programed to my 9-3?Last edited by 100%Saab; 24 February 2020 at 14:40. Reason: typo as always

Onstar working just fine with no further problems. I will probably wait to have the code cleared since I am having no other problems and we are under current travel restrictions as is everyone.
