9-3 mystery wire unplugged in engine bay?
I have been using the search function to try and identify this plug... but to no avail... and now I have looked so much my eyes are spinning like a slot machine about to pay out...
So I have decided to start a thread to ask.
My car is an Australian 9-3 ARC 2.0T auto 2004 build date, 2005 compliance plate... I have been chasing a steady yellow engine light that comes and goes (no limp mode tho, runs as normal)... I replaced the fuel cap and a full tank of gas and the light went out... but then came back on.
Anyway, long story short... I was cleaning the engine bay and found a green 2 pin plug with a yellow wire/blue stripe and a black wire. The wires are in a black plastic sheath that comes up near the + red main battery wire near the left front strut tower (and the ABS) .... the wire has a broken mounting zip tie near the plug... I can't see anywhere (within reach of the wire) for it to plug in to? Does anyone know what this wire might be and if it is supposed to be plugged into something? Or is it an extra plug on the ARC loom that is used on an Aero or something?
cheers

No one?
Can someone with a 2005 9-3 have a look at their car and see if that plug is on their loom and if so, is it plugged in or loose like mine please....

9-3 mystery wire unplugged in engine bay?
That's similar to the connector on the sensor on the coolant expansion tank.
Check here. 9, 10 and 11

Yeah, that looks like the plug type... Do you have a link to a wiring diagram to see which plug like this has a yellow wire with a blue stripe and a black?

I was advised on another forum, it is the reverse light connection for a manual 9-3.... mine being auto doesn't require it.

Whether it is reversing light for manual, or alarm hood switch, it is good to know it is nothing critical to the running of the car
